The K&N 69-6540TB Typhoon air intake system is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air induction system designed to fit certain Mitsubishi Lancer models. It replaces the factory air filter and intake housing with a system designed to significantly reduce air flow restriction. This allows the engine to inhale more air, leading to increased power and acceleration. The intake comes with a K&N high-flow air filter, which is directed through the intake tube to the engine's throttle body. The intake tube has a durable blue powder-coat finish and accommodates the factory mass air sensor. The air filter can last up to 100,000 miles before servicing. Installation is relatively easy, typically taking 90 minutes or less. Some Typhoon air intakes may not be legal for sale or use in certain regions due to emission standards.
