The K&N 69-6502TR Typhoon air intake system is a free-flowing aluminum tube air induction system designed to fit select Mitsubishi Eclipse models. The restrictive factory air filter and intake housing are replaced with the K&N Typhoon air intake, which dramatically reduces air flow restriction by smoothing and straightening airflow. This allows the engine to inhale a larger amount of air than the factory intake, resulting in increased power and acceleration throughout the RPM range. The 69-6502TR air intake includes a black rubber-topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that adapts to the air inlet duct. Air is directed through the intake tube into the engine's throttle body, ensuring a guaranteed power gain. The intake tube features an attractive red powder-coat finish and accommodates the factory mass air flow sensor and crank case vent hose. The oversized cone-shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is needed, depending on driving conditions.
