Throttle Cable

Throttle cable connects the throttle pedal to the throttle body or carburetor in mechanically controlled engines, regulating airflow and engine speed. A worn or stretched throttle cable can reduce responsiveness, making inspection and replacement important for consistent acceleration.

A universal throttle cable is often used in custom setups where a direct-fit part isn’t available, offering flexible routing and length. Proper tension is key to ensuring smooth operation of the throttle accelerator pedal and throttle pedal. While many modern vehicles use electronic throttle control, mechanical cables are still common and require regular maintenance to ensure safe, responsive engine control.
