The K&N 57-1533 FIPK air intake system is a replacement for the factory air filter and air intake housing in certain Dodge Ram models. Designed to significantly reduce intake restrictions by smoothing and straightening airflow, this intake allows your Ram's engine to inhale a larger volume of air than the stock assembly. This increased airflow translates to more usable power and acceleration across the engine's RPM range. The 57-1533 air intake includes a chrome-topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that fits into the existing air box space. The air filter's placement near an incoming airflow source ensures cooler air is directed through the aerodynamically engineered intake tube into the engine's throttle body, resulting in a guaranteed power gain. The oversized oval-shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before requiring servicing, depending on driving conditions. Installation is relatively straightforward, typically taking 90 minutes or less with only a screwdriver, ratchet set, and several wrenches. Utilizing existing factory mounting points, the air intake tube accommodates the factory air temperature sensor and crankcase vent hose.
