Banks Power's Monster-Ram is a direct-replacement aluminum intake manifold designed to improve airflow from the intercooler. It achieves a Mass Air Flow (MAF) of 72.7 lbs/min with Banks’ High-Flow Heater and Billet Intake Plate, compared to the stock 38.6 lbs/min MAF. This translates to increased boost without compromising turbine efficiency, resulting in a more responsive and powerful engine.
The complete Monster-Ram system includes a High-Flow Heater that replaces the restrictive stock heater grid plate. This new vertical coil-style heater maintains functionality for cold starts while minimizing airflow obstruction. Additionally, the Billet Intake Plate removes obstructions and turbulence in the airflow path.
Utilizing advanced computational fluid-dynamics (CFD) software, the Monster-Ram was designed and tested on flow benches, dynos, and real-world applications. The design replaces the cramped and angular factory inlet elbow to allow for increased airflow.
The Monster-Ram features four 1/8” NPT ports for data acquisition purposes, such as temperature and pressure sensors.
