Banks Power's Monster-Ram is a direct-replacement aluminum intake manifold designed to improve airflow from the intercooler. It achieves a Mass Air Flow (MAF) of 72.7 lbs/min with Banks’ High-Flow Heater and Billet Intake Plate, compared to the stock's 38.6 lbs/min. This translates to increased boost without additional backpressure on the turbine, resulting in a more responsive and efficient engine.
The complete Monster-Ram system includes the Banks High-Flow Heater and Billet Intake Plate. The High-Flow Heater replaces the restrictive stock heater grid plate with a vertical coil-style heater that maintains cold start functionality without obstructing airflow. The Billet Intake Plate removes all obstructions in the airflow path.
Developed using computational fluid-dynamics (CFD) and tested extensively, the Monster-Ram boasts improved power, performance, and acceleration. Its design allows for more airflow compared to the stock inlet elbow, which is restricted to accommodate the stock No. 1 fuel line. Banks engineers designed a new No. 1 fuel line to address this limitation.
For data acquisition purposes, the Monster-Ram features four 1/8” NPT ports for temperature and pressure sensors.
Monster-Ram outperforms the competition, achieving more than double the airflow improvement compared to its closest competitor.
