AEM offers brass pressure sensors in three pressure ranges: 15, 100, and 150 pounds per square inch gauge (psig). These sensors measure pressure relative to atmospheric pressure, meaning they read 0 psi when exposed to air. They are commonly used for applications like monitoring oil, fuel, brake, and nitrous oxide pressure.

When selecting a pressure sensor, consider the required accuracy. Similar to how a caliper provides a more precise measurement than a ruler, stainless steel sensors offer greater accuracy than brass sensors. Brass sensors are suitable for obtaining a general pressure reference, such as for a boost gauge that monitors intake manifold pressure but isn't used for engine control unit (ECU) calibration. In contrast, stainless steel sensors are ideal for applications demanding high precision, such as the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor that provides critical data for the ECU.
