AEM 1 BAR MAP or 15 PSIA Stainless Steel Sensor Kit - 30-2130-15

AEM offers stainless steel absolute pressure sensors in various ranges  from 15 psi (1 bar) to 100 psi (7 bar). These sensors measure pressure relative to a perfect vacuum (0 psi). They are ideal for reading manifold pressure, which includes both positive pressure (boost) and negative pressure (vacuum).

When exposed to atmospheric pressure, a PSIa sensor reads approximately 14.7 psi at sea level. However, they can be calibrated to display zero at atmospheric pressure and negative values for vacuum.

Choosing the right sensor depends on the application. Brass sensors are suitable for applications where a general pressure reference is needed, such as a boost gauge. On the other hand, stainless steel sensors are more precise and better suited for critical applications like feeding pressure data to the Engine Control Unit (ECU) for calibration purposes.
