The K&N 69-8701TP Typhoon air intake system is a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum tube air induction system designed to fit certain Lexus IS250 and IS350 models. Replacing the factory air filter and air intake housing, the K&N Typhoon air intake dramatically reduces air flow restriction by smoothing and straightening airflow. This allows the engine to inhale a larger amount of air, resulting in increased power and acceleration throughout the engine's RPM range. The 69-8701TP air intake includes a black rubber topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that fits into the previous air box space. Air is directed through the intake tube to the engine's throttle body, guaranteeing a power gain. The intake tube has a durable chrome-like finish and accommodates the factory mass air flow sensor and crank case vent hose. The oversized cone shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is required, depending on driving conditions. The necessary tools for installation include a screwdriver, diagonal cutters, needle nose pliers, a ratchet set, and wrenches.
