Red Line assembly lube is applied to potential wear surfaces during assembly to prevent scuffing during initial engine startup before regular lubrication is established. Unlike some assembly lubes, it mixes with engine oil and doesn't clog filters. It is suitable for various lubricated parts including camshafts, lifters, pistons, bearings, and fastener threads. While a thin layer is adequate for bearings and pistons, applying too much lube can hinder engine startup. Red Line assembly lube also provides excellent corrosion protection for machined surfaces during storage. It is important to note that this product is not intended for exhaust bolts or other high-temperature applications requiring anti-seize compounds.
These fluids are offered in a variety of packaging for convenience in different work environments
OEM Compatibility
Red Line Assembly Lube is designed to be used as a lubricant to apply to potential wear surfaces before assembly in order to prevent metal contact upon startup before adequate lubrication is supplied. This product will mix with the oil and not plug filters, and can be used on all lubricated parts such as cams, followers, pistons, bearings, and bolt threads. Use only a small amount on bearing and piston surfaces - too much can make it difficult to turn over the engine. Do not use on exhaust bolts or other high temperature bolts which require an anti-seize.
