Draw-tapered and diamond-cut leaves ensure proper load distribution, reducing stress and the risk of breakage. To further enhance longevity, the springs undergo scragging for a permanent set and load testing. Additional features include a graphite coating for friction reduction, military-grade wrapping for safety, and regreasable nylon interleaf liners to minimize friction at critical points. The flat axle seat area allows for a secure axle mount, reducing stress and extending spring life. Shot peening on the tension side of the leaves further reduces stress and can potentially double the lifespan of the springs. Finally, a two-stage leaf pack design provides optimal comfort. When unloaded, the primary stage offers a comfortable ride, with the secondary stage engaging to support increased weight.
