K&N's Premium Wrench-Off Oil Filter was originally designed for rigorous racing conditions, but its durability and ease of removal have made it a popular choice among consumers. Many of our automotive and marine oil filters feature a welded 1-inch nut at the top of the canister, allowing for easy removal with a standard tool. To meet the demanding requirements of racing, our oil filters offer several features beyond those found in most vehicles. We use thicker canister walls to enhance strength and durability, reducing the risk of damage from loose rocks and debris. The drilled hole in the nut provides a secure attachment point for safety wire. Our oil filters also employ a resin-impregnated cellulose filter media, which enables higher flow rates while maintaining exceptional filtration. This filter media is supported by an inner core to prevent filter collapse. Additionally, many of our K&N oil filters include an anti-drain back valve (where applicable) to eliminate dry starts and prevent oil from draining back into the crankcase during engine shutdown. The heavy-duty outer shell protects against rock and stone damage and offers over 550 psi hydrostatic burst strength.
