The AWE Performance Exhaust System for the Volkswagen MK5 GTI is crafted from thick .065" wall T304L stainless steel tubing for durability and corrosion resistance. It features a Cat Back design that maintains compatibility with the original equipment downpipe or aftermarket downpipes designed for the factory exhaust. The system culminates in 3.15" beveled exhaust tips with AWE logos, double-walled for a polished look. The exhaust utilizes mandrel-bent tubing and high-quality stainless steel band clamps to ensure a precise fit and allow for adjustments during installation. AWE engineers opted for a 2.5-inch diameter after finding that a larger 3.0-inch diameter resulted in power loss at lower RPMs with minimal gains at higher RPMs.
