Red Line MT-85 is a fully-synthetic manual transmission gear oil designed for smoother gear changes and improved synchronizer performance. It features a friction coefficient optimized for proper synchronizer engagement, eliminating notchy shifts even in cold weather. Unlike some GL-5 oils that can harm brass synchronizers, the MT-85’s formulation is safe for these components due to the absence of reactive sulfurs. This lubricant offers superior wear protection for gears and synchros, promoting longer transmission life.

MT-85 is suitable for a wide range of applications, including Nissan (350Z, 370Z, Maxima, Altima, Sentra), Mitsubishi Evolution, Hyundai, Kia, and vehicles with Quaife synchros. It is also compatible with many NV4500 truck transmissions used in Chevrolet Silverado and Dodge Ram models, meeting Chrysler specification MS-9070. Additionally, MT-85 can be used in applications calling for GL-1, GL-3, GL-4 gear oils, or special synchromesh fluids.
