ARB Air Locker Differential Spreader is a tool designed for professional differential installation. It is particularly useful for Salisbury style axle assemblies (like Dana Spicer model 44) where achieving the correct carrier bearing pre-load during setup is crucial. Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) recommend a method that involves stretching the differential housing (also called the pumpkin) to allow for the addition of shims and create the pre-load.
