The K&N 57-2571 FIPK air intake system is designed to replace the restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing in certain Ford Mustang Shelby models. K&N intakes are engineered to significantly reduce intake restriction by smoothing and straightening airflow, allowing your engine to inhale more air than the factory air filter assembly. This results in increased power and acceleration throughout the engine's RPM range. The 57-2571 air intake includes a chrome-topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that fits into the previous air box space. Air is directed through an aerodynamically engineered intake tube into the engine's throttle body, ensuring a guaranteed power gain. A high-density polyethylene (HDPE) rotationally-molded tube increases airflow volume to your engine, guaranteeing an increase in horsepower and torque. These systems are paired with a washable, reusable High-Flow Air Filter featuring oiled cotton filter media. The tube accommodates the factory mass air sensor, vacuum vent line, and crankcase vent hose. The oversized cone-shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is required, depending on driving conditions.
