The K&N 57-1531 FIPK air intake system is a replacement for the factory air filter and air intake housing in certain Chrysler PT Cruiser models. Designed to significantly reduce intake restriction, K&N intakes streamline and straighten airflow, allowing your engine to inhale more air than the factory assembly. This increased airflow translates to more usable power and acceleration across the engine's RPM range. The 57-1531 includes a lightweight carbon fiber-topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield that fits into the existing air box space. Air is channeled through an aerodynamically engineered intake tube to the engine's throttle body, resulting in a guaranteed power increase. The tube accommodates the factory turbo inlet and a replacement silicone crank case vent hose. The oversized cone-shaped air filter can last up to 100,000 miles before requiring servicing, depending on driving conditions. Installation is relatively straightforward, typically taking 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points. Necessary tools include a screwdriver, ratchet set, and a few wrenches.
