The Banks Power exhaust brakes utilize a revolutionary design to provide superior braking force compared to other exhaust brakes. The large-bore housing is streamlined to enhance airflow and exhaust diffusion, which actually increases engine power when the Banks Brake is inactive. Additionally, a timed valve closure rate engineered by Banks prevents backpressure spikes common with other exhaust brakes, promoting smoother operation. These exhaust brakes require no calibration and come pre-tested from the factory.

The Banks Power exhaust brake system includes a cast, large-bore brake housing, a high-force four-inch vacuum actuator, a computerized brake controller (CBC), a large butterfly valve with a super-alloy shaft and bearing system, a stainless steel Monster T.O.P. turbine-outlet pipe, an in-dash switch, a wire loom, and mounting hardware. It offers up to 12% more stopping power than standard exhaust brakes, while increasing engine power when not in use and eliminating the need for maintenance. It is important to note that SmartLock is highly recommended for vehicles with automatic transmissions, and Banks Brake and Banks Power Elbow cannot be used on the same vehicle.
