ARB Air Locker Shim Driver is a tool designed for professional differential servicing. It is particularly useful for installing and maintaining differentials that rely on shim pre-loading for bearing adjustment.  Improper pre-load on the carrier bearing can lead to premature bearing failure, ring and pinion issues, and potential oil or air leaks in Air Locker differentials. Traditional methods of tapping shims into differentials, particularly common Salisbury style axles (like Dana Spicer model 44), can damage the shim due to uneven force applied from a single point.  The ARB Air Locker Shim Driver mitigates this risk by providing six different sized steel profiles that distribute tapping force evenly around the shim's outer edge during installation. This allows for the use of thinner shims in tight spaces and reduces the chance of damage during assembly.
