The K&N 57-1557 FIPK air intake system is designed to replace the restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing in certain Dodge Ram models. K&N air intakes are engineered to significantly reduce intake restriction by smoothing and straightening airflow, allowing your Ram's engine to inhale more air than the factory air filter assembly. This results in increased power and acceleration throughout the engine's RPM range. The 57-1557 air intake includes a K&N high-flow air filter, a heat shield that fits into the previous air box space, and an aerodynamically engineered intake tube that directs air into the engine's throttle body for guaranteed power gain. The system accommodates the factory mass air sensor, air temperature sensor, and air filter minder. A high-density polyethylene (HDPE) rotationally-molded tube increases airflow volume to your engine, ensuring a guaranteed increase in horsepower and torque. Paired with a washable, reusable High-Flow Air Filter featuring oiled cotton filter media, the oversized cone-shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is required, depending on driving conditions. A custom heat shield protects intake air from engine bay heat, and the entire system can typically be installed in under 60 minutes.
