The K&N 69-2003TFK Typhoon air intake system is a high-performance air induction system designed for select BMW M6 models. It replaces the factory air intake and filter, significantly reducing airflow restriction and enhancing engine performance. The system features a free-flowing, mandrel-bent aluminum intake tube that directs air to the engine's throttle bodies, allowing for increased airflow and improved power output throughout the RPM range. Dual black rubber-topped K&N high-flow air filters with heat shields are included, ensuring optimal filtration and preventing heat soak. The intake tubes are powder-coated in a durable flat black finish and accommodate the factory mass air sensors and a replacement silicone air injection hose. The oversized cone-shaped air filters can be used for up to 100,000 miles before requiring service, depending on driving conditions. Installation is relatively straightforward, typically taking 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points. The system includes a guaranteed increase in horsepower and torque and features a washable, reusable high-flow air filter with oiled cotton filter media.
