The K&N 77-6014-1KP high-flow performance air intake system is designed to enhance air flow and increase power output in select Nissan Pathfinder, XTerra, and Frontier models. Replacing the restrictive factory air filter and intake housing, this system features a mandrel-bent aluminum intake tube that smoothes and straightens air flow. The improved air flow allows the engine to inhale a larger volume of air, resulting in increased horsepower and acceleration throughout the RPM range. The 77-6014-1KP includes a chrome-topped K&N high-flow air filter and a heat shield, directing air through the intake tube to the engine's throttle body. The system features a durable chrome-like finish, accommodates the factory mass air sensor, and includes a replacement silicone crankcase vent hose. The oversized cone-shaped air filter can be used for up to 100,000 miles before servicing is required, depending on driving conditions. Installation is relatively straightforward, typically taking 90 minutes or less using existing factory mounting points. The tools needed are a few screwdrivers, pliers, a ratchet set, and wrenches.
