Red Line MT-85 is a fully-synthetic transmission gear oil designed to provide smooth gear changes and protect synchronizers. It features a friction coefficient that optimizes gear engagement and eliminates notchy shifting, even in cold weather. Unlike some GL-5 oils that can harm brass synchronizers, MT-85 is formulated to be safe for these components. It offers superior wear protection for gears and synchros, promoting longer transmission life.

MT-85 is suitable for a wide range of applications, including Nissan and Infiniti vehicles, Mitsubishi Evolution, Hyundai, Kia, and trucks using the NV4500 transmission. It meets the viscosity requirements of 75W85 and 85W gear oils, as well as the viscosity of SAE 30 and 5W30 motor oils. Additionally, MT-85 exceeds the performance standards of GL-1, GL-3, and GL-4 gear oils and can be used in applications specifying special synchromesh fluids.
