Red Line GL-5 gear oil is formulated for high protection and improved differential efficiency. It offers excellent lubrication, a high viscosity index, and the ability to lower operating temperatures, exceeding API GL-5 specifications. This new formula contains additional friction modifiers for clutch-type limited-slip differentials (LSDs), eliminating the need for additional modifiers in most cases.

Developed with racing teams, it provides improved LSD operation under extreme loads and differential temperatures. It offers gear noise reduction compared to 75W90 without requiring the thicker 75W140 viscosity, making it suitable for troubleshooting noisy gear sets. Popular in sports cars and light trucks, this oil is not recommended for most manual transmissions due to its potential to cause shifting problems.
